Fashion is ever changing and the world of jewelry is no exception.

for 2008 according to National Jewelers Network.
- Layered
necklaces, colorful beads, cuffs, bangles and textured metals
paired with high-waisted shorts and pants, billowing sleeves
and skirts
- Celestial
jewelry is still a hot theme
- Feathers
and organic jewelry will linger this year, but will be less
fur
- African
prints and organic hippie looks will appear with earth-tone
jewelry designs set in metals such as rose and chocolate gold
- Black
and white motifs will keep going strong. Especially popular
are the blackened platinum, black diamonds and white diamonds.
- Primary
colors like red, orange and cobalt blue gaining ground along
with neon accents, metallics and glitter will be the focus this
year
- Big,
bold, beautiful pieces such as cocktail rings, chunky bracelets
with gemstones are still going strong. However, they are more
intricate in their design
- Multilook
items, like earrings interchangeable gemstones are still hot
- Antique
inspired pieces reminiscent of your mother and grand-mother’s
jewelry boxes are gaining in popularity
- There
is a slow shift to more delicate pieces of jewelry worn layered
up (probably due to the rising prices of metals)
- Bracelets,
bracelets, bracelets! They are hot and will continue to be hot
this year.
- Diamond
designs expected to be hot in 2008 are hoop earrings, cocktail
rings and long chains that can be worn in casual settings.
- Larger
case watches are the in thing now. They are available in a variety
of BIG sizes, new color metals such as rose gold, very popular
in men’s watches.
